1. Prototype qty vs factory MOQ
FeRAM lines such as MB85RC* (I2C) and MB85RS* (SPI) are often packed on full factory reels (commonly 2k–4k pcs class for many SOP/SON SKUs — confirm on the exact PN datasheet). Prototype teams usually need 50–500 pcs for EVT/DVT, not a full reel. That gap is normal: franchise catalogs optimize for production MOQ; a stocking distributor should tell you honestly whether we can split from HK/SZ shelf stock, kit from a partial reel, or must quote market MOQ. 2. Date code, reel integrity, and suffix traps
On prototype buys, three details cause more rework than “wrong density”:
• Date code window — state “DC within 24 months” or your factory audit rule; we match on quote.
• Full reel vs cut tape — cut tape is fine for lab; production often needs original reel + MSL handling documented.
• Complete suffix — MB85RC64VPNF-G-JNERE1 and MB85RS256BPNF-G-JNERE1 are not interchangeable with “64K FRAM I2C”; voltage, package, and speed grade live in the suffix. Search the exact PN on ICLee or paste it on RFQ.
