Stock, price, and documented IQC for industrial FRAM memory — SPI and I2C MB85 lines from Hong Kong and Shenzhen, including small batch and EOL demand.
Your equipment is still running, but the FRAM you need has gone end-of-life. The authorized channels show “obsolete,” yet your production line and repair bench still need these parts. This guide covers how to source Fujitsu MB85 series FRAM from a stocking supplier — without gambling on quality.

If you’ve tried to buy FRAM lately, you already know the pain. Here are the four problems we hear from buyers every week:
1. The part is EOL — authorized channels can’t help. Many Fujitsu MB85 parts are discontinued or nearing EOL. Digi-Key and Mouser list them as “obsolete” with zero stock. But your product is still in production, and your service team still needs replacements.
2. The open market is full of relabeled and reworked parts. FRAM is not immune to the counterfeit problem. Sanded-off markings, re-balled packages, and pulled parts relabeled as “new” all show up in the market. Put one bad part on a production line and you get intermittent failures that are almost impossible to trace.
3. You need 50 pieces, but suppliers demand full reels. Prototype builds, repair runs, and small production batches need 10, 50, or 100 pieces. Many traders won’t touch an order under a full reel (2,500 pieces).
4. “100% genuine” claims come without inspection evidence. Anyone can say “100% original.” What you actually need to know is: what inspection was done on this lot? Visual? X-ray? Functional test? Is there a record?
FRAM (Ferroelectric RAM) is a non-volatile memory that keeps data when power is lost, writes at near-SRAM speed, and lasts effectively forever. That combination is why it’s used in applications that write data constantly and can’t afford wear-out. New to the technology? See our short note What Is FeRAM (FRAM)?
| FRAM | Flash | EEPROM | SRAM | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Data lost on power-off | No | No | No | Yes |
| Write speed | Very fast (ns) | Slow (ms) | Very slow | Very fast |
| Endurance | 1012 writes | 105 writes | 106 writes | Unlimited |
| Power consumption | Low | Low | High | High |
Typical FRAM applications: smart meters, industrial controls, medical devices, automotive electronics, and RFID. For meter and logger BOMs, see FeRAM in Smart Meters and Industrial Data Loggers.
Here’s the catch: when an FRAM goes EOL, it’s not a simple swap. A replacement Flash or EEPROM changes write timing, endurance, and power characteristics — which means a redesign, not a drop-in. That’s exactly why finding original FRAM in stock matters more than finding “a similar part.”

We won’t claim a “100% genuine guarantee” — that’s a phrase anyone can type. Instead, here’s what actually happens to every FRAM lot at our Shenzhen IQC lab before it ships:
1. Visual inspection — marking clarity, lead flatness, package integrity, any sign of sanding or rework. See Step 1: Visual & Magnified Visual Inspection.
2. Label vs. ERP check — we verify the lot label’s part number, batch, and quantity against our system records.
3. X-ray inspection (on request) — internal lead-frame and bond-wire check to identify re-packaging risk.
4. Functional test (on request) — read/write testing on sampled parts to confirm operation.

Honest limits: No single inspection method catches everything. Large-batch orders are typically sampled rather than 100% inspected due to cost and lead-time realities. X-ray and decap add time and cost — confirm what level you need before you order.
What we can do is show you exactly what a lot went through and what it didn’t, so you can decide what fits your project. That’s the difference between a documented process and a marketing line. Full lab photos live on our Quality Control page.
Q: Are your FRAM parts brand new original?
A: Our stocked MB85 parts are primarily new original. Some EOL parts may come from original overstock or authorized channel tail stock — we state the source clearly in every quote and never mix sources in one lot.
Q: What’s your MOQ?
A: There’s no hard MOQ. We quote 10 pieces for prototyping and 50 for repair. Larger quantities get better pricing.
Q: Can you provide inspection reports?
A: Yes. Standard lots come with visual inspection records. If you need X-ray or functional test reports, confirm before ordering and we’ll arrange them with documentation.
Q: What’s the lead time?
A: For in-stock parts, 1–3 business days after confirmation, shipped from our Hong Kong or Shenzhen warehouse. Sourcing or extra inspection adds time, which we state in the quote.
Q: Can you help replace an EOL FRAM?
A: If you need the exact part, we find stock. If you need a functional replacement, send us your part number and application and we can recommend a compatible alternative.
Send us your part number, quantity, and target date — we reply with stock, price, and an inspection plan within 24 hours. No relabeled parts, no blind shipping.
